Hey... glad you stopped by today.

Pretty cool.

I looked at the statistics for this website from yesterday. It was really interesting. There are always people checking this update out from all across the country and in other parts of the world.

But, yesterday I sent out a message to the big email list... and, I put the name "Michael Jackson" in the subject of the message, just to see what would happen.

We had nearly twice as many hits as any other day in the past 2 months!

Yeah... I was a little sneaky.

Because, like I said yesterday, I really couldn't care less about Mr. Jackson. But, I wanted to see how powerful the allure of modern-day pop culture could be... and, maybe use that to at least plant the seed for the important project we're working on. Y'see, we're gonna try to help the innocent civilians in Iraq by putting together a really wonderful night of music to raise money and get them some direct help. I think it's gonna be something really special, and you're all welcome to be a part of it. I'll let you know more about it here on the site as the whole thing starts to take shape.

Anyway, I guess my little "M.J." experiment worked. Because I also received a whole bunch of emails from good people who said they are excited about the idea of the concert and feel like they wanna do whatever they can to support the effort. Y'know, this concert is gonna be about ordinary people getting together to help these ordinary people whose lives are being destroyed on the other side of our planet. So, it was really great to hear from everyone who wrote yesterday.

Thanks.

If you missed the update, or don't know what the hell I'm talkin' about... you can go to the "Archives" over there and read any previous updates you're interested in.

Don't have a whole lot else to say today. Except, I have a feeling the weather is gonna be great this Saturday. But if it isn't, I will head to the park on Sunday. So just check back here, okay? If your Dad is in town for Father's Day, take him to brunch somewhere on Columbus Avenue, and then head over to "The Hill" in Central Park.

Oh yeah, and keep checking back here to see if Dodger and I will be down on the Pier this Friday night. When you play music outdoors as much as I do in the summer, it's always about the weather.

Listen, as usual... I'll be updating the news from Iraq in the "Forum" (message board). but, it's there for you guys to go in there and talk to each other about whatever you want... music, moivies, Love, sex, politics... whateever.

(I do hope, though, that you do take at least a minute to read about what's going on in Iraq. It's your responsibility, too, y'know.)

Whatever you're doing today, hope you make it a good one. Hope you smile more than you don't. Hope you learn something wonderful today.

I gotta run out of town today for a while. Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum" later.

Hope I see you in person, soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
