Well, I have a feeling we're gonna get out to Central Park for the first official afternoon of music this season... tomorrow afternoon. If you are in or around New York City, why don't you come out to "The Hill". As I mentioned earlier this week, a film crew is making a documentary about Central Park, and tomorrow they will be shooting the segment about "That Guitar Man"... um... y'know... me. If you come out to the park, you will be part of the movie. Who knows? Maybe you'll get interviewed for the project.

Kinda cool.

Toward the end of the month, maybe early June... there will be another crew shooting another documentary. But, I think that film is more about peoople who love what they do for a living. I definitely fall into that category. I feel like the luckiest man alive.) I'll tell you more about that whole thing when I know more.

But, tomorrow... head on out to "The Hill". I'm gonna break in a few brand new songs that I've written over the winter...

"I Was You"
"I Love the Company"
"Reality TV"
"Internet Angel"
"You Don't Know"

...and others.

Got a whole bunch of new cover tunes, too. Gonna do a lot more songs by female artists and I've been running a lot of new tunes that I love. I have a feeling this is gonna be a very special summer in the park. We're gonna have a lot of laughs and do a lot of singing together out there, as always... but, I feel something new and good in the wind that I can't quite put my finger on.

(We just got off to kind of a late start, weather-wise.)

I really do think the rain is gonna hold off until Sunday and we're gonnna have a good one tomorrow.

This year... I'll be singing in the park every Saturday! So, that means the Sunset Concert Series on the Pier in the Village will be on Friday nights! (But, that doesn't begin 'til June 10th.)

Got it?

In music news this week... THE ROLLING STONES are going out on tour this summer! That's soooo cool! I always say... there are two things I love about Mick Jagger.

1. He's pure rock n roll.

2. I'll always be younger than him.

Hey listen... on a completely different note, if you live here in New York City, or if you are reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world, that "Forum" (message board) over there is for you! You guys can go in there and meet each other, talk about whatever you want... music, movies, world events, sex, Love... whatever. I'm personally using it as a place to update the "News from Iraq" everyday. I've invited others to do the same. And, the result has been kind of encouraging. Seems there are some caring and aware people out there who aren't completely distracting themselves with trivia and cultural minutia to pay attention to the war. Yeah, it's disturbing paying attention to a nightmare of a war that our own country is responsible for. But... it's important. (Of course, don't tell Wolf Blitzer and the mainstream "news" media. They have Macaulay Culkin to report about.)

By the way... saw an amazing thing on CSPAN the other day. Something about as rare as a total solar eclipse!

This man.

A politician... a Republican, no less... who acts on his conscience. I just wanted to put his picture here because it's important to recognize. If you don't know who this is or what I'm talking about... um... find out, okay? It's your country. I'm an Independent. So, I applaud anyone of any party or ideology who speaks reason.

Hint: His last name is Voinovich... and, HA! Chances are pretty good that, even though he's a Republican, the Karl Rove machine and the people behind the Bush administration will do their best to crush him one day in the future. So, applaud him, now.

Anyway... hope I'll see you guys out in the park tomorrow. We're gonna have a lot of fun this summer.

It's just us!

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum" later.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
