HEY! If you were out on "The Hill" in Central Park yesterday...

THANKS!

A new season of music in the park is underway. Remember... Saturday afternoons this year! Saturday afternoons!

I had a good time out there. The crowd seems to like all the new songs. (Hit the "Contact" button and email me if you had a good time yesterday.) This year, I want to strike a balance with the music I'm playing out there. Y'know? I wanna keep playing new cover tunes and classic stuff. And, of course, all of my own songs from the past 5 CDs... along with my brand new tunes that haven't even made it into the studio, yet. I'm also gonna strike a balance between Love songs, and fun songs... and, songs like "Where's the Voice", "Tired of Beng Lied To" and "I Love the Company". Y'know... songs that say something about the nightmare in Iraq and the horrible collection of people in Washington DC.

It's part of what American music, especially folk and rock music, is supposed to be about!

We'll strike a balance.

We're gonna have alot of fun this year. And, I think it's gonna be a fascinating summer in many ways. Already! Documentary films... HA! But, if you weren't there yesterday... you're not in the movie! But, you'll get a second chance to be in another film in a few weeks, I think.

Yeah, the first film crew came out to the park yesterday to shoot a segment for a documentary about Central Park. (The director even brought actors with him to act like they were "People on the Hill". Kind of a bizzare concept.) But, we all had a lot of laughs with it.

Oh hey, this year... if you're out there any weekend, and you own one of those digital cameras. Take some pictures of the fun, impromtu stuff that happens out there, okay? Y'know... like yesterday, that cool kid in the shades who started doing that "bat dance" in front of 200 people! If you get pictures of stuff like that, email them to me and we'll put them up here on the website. You can all be photo-journalists for this site if you want, okay?

Listen, if you're reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world... or, if you're new here... jump into the "Forum" (message board) over there and say "Hi".

I might be back here to update this homepage a little later. I'm going to stop in the "Forum" now to update the "News from Iraq". I made a commitment NOT to drop the ball on the things that matter, just because an its not an election year and much of the mainstream media doesn't seem to care anymore... and, much of the American public would rather ignore it.

I think wwhile I'm in there, I'm also gonna post some more of my favorite Stephen Schwartz lyrics from the musical "Pippin" (Damn! I should play some of those tunes out in the park this year.)

Anyway, maybe I'll see you back here a little later.

Oh, yeah... and, if you have a friend someplace that you think would enjoy stopping by this website every day... send them the link, okay?

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
