Well that's it...
After a week in the islands, after warm Sun and tropical birds, palm trees swaying, after 8 days of working out everyday and running miles and miles on powder-white beaches beside a turquoise sea, after star-filled nights and palm trees and ocean breezes... I've decided.
NO MORE SINGING IN CENTRAL PARK.
That's it!
It's over.
I've had it.
14 years is enough! Besides, I've received hate mail for the first time in my career, from people who just don't "get it" over some of the new songs I've written in the past 2 years and so... that's it.
Time for me to move on.

Something kinda cool about April Fool's Day.
Ancient cultures, including those as varied as the Romans and the Hindus, celebrated New Year's Day on April 1st. (I guess maybe because it closely follows the vernal equinox... March 20th or March 21st.) In medieval times, much of Europe celebrated March 25, the Catholic Feast of Annunciation, as the beginning of the new year. Religions were even confusing the simplest things back then.
In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII ordered a new calendar (the Gregorian Calendar) to replace the old Julian Calendar. Seems like relgious and politial leaders love to have shit named after themselves. Julius and Augustus Caesar even gave himself a couple of months. Pope Gregory gave hinmself a whole damned calendar! The new calendar called for New Year's Day to be celebrated on January 1. Many countries, however, resisted the change. In fact, some European countries held out for centuries (Scotland until 1660; Germany, Denmark, and Norway until 1700; and England until 1752).
But, many of the French absolutely refused. See? The French have always been a little difficult! Or... y'know... difficile!
In 1564 France adopted the reformed calendar and shifted New Year's day to Jan. 1. However, many people either refused to accept the new date, or did not learn about it, and continued to celebrate New Year's Day April 1.
Other people began to make fun of these traditionalists, sending them on "fool's errands" or trying to trick them into believing something false... like there was enough to eat, or the aristocracy cared about them, or that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq... y'know, that kinda thing.
Anyway... HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY.
Maybe I'll see you guys at Fourth U this Sunday evening. Doors open at 7:00... music starts around 7:30.
BUT, DEFINITELY MAKE PLANS TODAY TO GET TO CAMI HALL ON APRIL 22.
New songs... old songs... a few laughs... and, we'll kick this winter in the ass as it heads out the door.
See you in the Forum" later.
Thanks for everything.
