Okay... y'all set?

We've had beautiful weather all week. Beautiful Spring weather. But, it's gonna get a little chilly and rainy this weekend. That's cool with me.

We're gonna get together tonight for the concert at Columbia Aritsts CAMI HALL and warm the place up a bit. Do some singin', tell a few stories, have a few laughs. I think there are gonna be some cool people in the audience that I met when I was down in the islands this winter. Got a feeling there are also gonna be a lot of faces that you all see in Central Park in the summer, and a bunch of indoor-concert-first-timers. Dodger's gonna be on stage with me. It's gonna be a fun night. Starting a whole new season... a whole new year. I've got a few brand new songs to play for you guys, but don't sweat it. We'll do the older songs that you all wanna hear and sing along with. Y'know, we'll just do what we do.

Oh yeah... I just got a call, and there is a possibility the whole thing is gonna be shot on video for a new "online" news website, specifically about Central Park. (Cool idea.) So, show up and be a part of the gig.

I'm hoping that David Marcus will be able to join us for a couple of songs on stage. (I got an email from him today, saying that he wasn't feelin' all that great this week, so he wasn't sure he was gonna make the gig.) But, man... I love calling him up to sit in. Maybe if he can't make it, I'll grab some other unsuspecting person to sing on stage with us. (Just kidding. Don't get nervous.) It'll just mean Dodger will hafta sound like two people on a couple of songs. Dodger can do anything, y'know.

And, maybe you guys in the audience who naturally sing harmony will just hafta sing out a little louder.

Anyway... gonna be a good time.

Thanks for stopping by today. I know there are a lot of people reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world. But, if you live anywhere near New York City, just show up tonight, right across the street from Carnegie Hall on West 57th Street. The doors will open at 7:00, because CAMI HALL is general admission. Y'know... first come first serve seating. All the seats are $20, but there isn't a bad seat in the house at CAMI. Really.

Okay... today, gotta get to work. Got a few things I wanna run for the gig tonight. But, y'know... to prepare for one of these indoor concerts is really all about getting into the "It's Just Us" frame of mind and spirit.

That's easy.

I love my life and making music.

Today in the Forum (message board), though, I will also continue to post news from the WAR in Iraq... not to depress you... but, to honor my own commitment to speaking out against this morally treasonable war. The WAR that the American news media, the American public, the man in the Oval Office and our poiliticans on both sides of the aisle have largely chosen to ignore.

Anyway, listen, whatever you are doing today... enjoy it to the fullest. Be cool to each other. Stay in a place of gratitude, Peace and wonder if you can. Have fun with the smallest, ordinary things. smile at a stranger who needs a smile today. And, I'll see you tonight at CAMI.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
