Oh man!

I love it when this happens! A song just wrote itself at light speed yesterday. And, the lyric that came around the very first time was pretty close to being dead-on. This morning, half-asleep-and-half-awake... (which is when an awful lot of my lyrics re-write themselves.) ... this one polished itself up.

I might just play it at the concert this Friday night. It's a fun song, I think. I don't know. I hafta let it find it's voice, now. I'll bring it on down to Dodger's later on today and we'll run it... see what we've got.

Hey! What are you doing this Friday Night!?

The Spring Concert at CAMI HALL. Okay? Today... call a friend, or a few friends, and plan to meet them after work. Then come to CAMI HALL on West 57th Street. (165 West 57th) This concert hal ahs general admission seating... y'know, first come first serve. So, doors open at 7:00, and the concert starts at 7:30. But, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's a smaller, more intimate venue than Merkin Concert Hall.

Oh, go ahead. Make the decision right now. Friday night. The CAMI HALL concert. Gonna be fun.

By the way... I was watching the TV news yesterday, just a little. (I can only stand watching the... um... "news".. a little at a time before I start to gag.) But, yesterday every time they did another story about the new Pope... I got craving for eggs with hollandaise sauce. Hmmmm.

Odd.

Okay... back to business.

Hey listen, thanks for stopping by. I know there are a lot of you reading this in other parts of the country or other parts of the world. But, if you're in or around New York City...

We're gonna have a good time this Friday night. We're gonna sing some brand new songs, some of the older songs that I haven't played in a long time... we'll have a few laughs, just kinda make it up as we go along. Y'know, if you've ever been to one of these indoor concerts, you know what I'm talkin' about. I'm just always really jazzed to be in a great venue like CAMI with you guys, and to be sharing a stage with Dodger again.

Oh yeah... listen, I walked through Central Park yesterday afternoon and that fence is still up. (It also looks like it may rain here in New York over the weekend.) But, I'm hoping it won't be too long before we begin another season by the Lake. Couple of weeks maybe.

Also, the "Sunset Concert Series" in Hudson River Park is definitely gonna happen again this year, too. But, it's gonna be on Friday nights this year... on the Pier at the end of Christopher Street. That'll kick off on June 10th. Keeep checking back at this website every day for all the stuff that's goin' on.

I was also thinkin'...

Y'know those new outdoor cafes that have popped up in Riverside Park? Hudson-on-the-Beach and others. I might just go and talk to those people and see if they'd like to do something that would include my music and the crowd from Central Park. That might turn into a cool, regular kinda thing, too. I don't know. Just kickin' around some ideas for the summer.

But, first things first.

If you've got a little Spring fever, I'll see you at CAMI HALL this Friday night.

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum" (message board) a little later today.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
