New songs...

Gonna play at least a few new songs at the concert a week from Friday. Gotta get a few mp3s to my buddy, Dodger... and, maybe get together with David Marcus to see if he'd like to throw a harmony or two in the mix.

The new lyric that I posted here on the homepage yesterday is a song I'll probably do solo. But, I've got a few more songs that I think'll be more fun with Dodger on 'em. (By the way, if you ever wanna look back at past entries and updates on this site, you can just click on the "Archives" button over there. James Marino has built the most amazing and efficient website I've ever seen for an independent artist! If you're new here, or reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world, take a look around and see what we're up to here.)

Hey! The 2005 SPRING CONCERT is less than 2 weeks away. We're gonna kick off the Summer in style. Be with us, okay? It's a week from Friday... on April 22, 7:30 pm. (Doors open at 7:00 becasue it's general admission seating. But, there ain't a bad seat in the house at CAMI HALL.)

...so many more!

It's gonna be a fun night... a special night, I can feel it. And, I am really looking forward to it. Wanna start the summer of right. This winter hasn't been a whole lotta fun in so many ways. I don't know... just a looonnnng funky, cold, nasty winter this year. I can't wait to get a guitar on my shoulder and be in a room filled with cool people, and see all the faces I've seen in Central Park over the years, and a lot of new faces. Do a little singin'... a little laughing... play some new songs... a lot of the old songs.

Hope you can make it.

Um... again, April 22 at a place called Columbia Artists (CAMI) Hall.

HA! Sad that over this past year some nice people have been turned off by what they perceive to be my "politics". I just choose to call it, y'know, American music... folk music... folk/rock music... good ol' American music. It's always been a place for "reason" and Truth". Once I feel it, I've gotta put it in a song. No choice, really. I still write songs about Love... I still write songs about "It's Just Us". And, it's like I always say... you can't walk into a room and turn on the "dark" switch. There is NO such thing as darkness... only light. Gotta turn on the light every chance we get to get rid of the darkness.

And... have some fun doing it!

Of course, when a light is turned on, some people who've been quite comfortable living in the dark get cranky. "Turn that off! It hurts our eyes!"

It does hurt. But, if we give it a chance, our eyes adjust and then it stops hurting... and, we can truly see what's around us. Or, we always have the choice to turn away, and remain in the dark.

Either way... it's cool with me. I love doing what I do!

Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a
light bulb?

A: None. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb; its conditions are improving every day. Any reports of it's lack of incandescence are a delusional spin from the liberal media and high-minded, loud-mouth musicians. That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say undermines the lighting effect. Why do you hate freedom?

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum" later today.

Hope I see you at CAMI HALL.

OH YEAH! Now, about getting tickets for the concert. They are starting to sell faster today. I still think you'll probably be able to walk right up and get tickets the night of the show. But, just keep checking back here to see if it's getting close to selling out, okay? It's a Friday night, so you can plan to make a night of it with your friends. Or, y'know, come by yourself and have a blast. (Lotsa people do.) You can also reserve a place right now by putting your name on the list that they keep at the door. (CAMI only seats 200 people.) All you hafta do is click on that thing over there on the right, under the poster that says "Add to Cart". Then, walk up the night of the concert and say your name at the door.

See you soon.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
