Last Night & Two Weeks from Tonight

Went down to the east village last night... Alphabet City... Avenue C. Played a set in a little place down there called the Alphabet Lounge. Tiny crowd, but I had a really good, good time singing for them. Played some of my own songs... played a few covers. I've decided there are songs by a few female artists I wanna start playing. And, for some reason, last night kicked me in the Creative ass to finally sit down and do the grunt work on a couple of new songs. Y'know, really sit down and hammer out the lyrics on a few songs that have been floating for a while. Nail 'em down today.

Hey, do you realize, though that the Spring Concert at CAMI HALL is exactly 2 weeks from tonight?

I know alot of people are reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world. But, if you live in or around New York City, CAMI HALL is right across the street from Carnegie Hall on West 57th Street.

CAMI HALL

That's gonna be a fun one. I'm hoping I can get Dodger to join me for that one. It's always more fun for me when Roger Bartlett's on the stage.

Oh, before I forget... this is important. The Pope is dead, but his condition is still stable. So, if you aren't getting enough coverage of this event on the television "news", you can jump into the "Forum" here. There's a topic in there called LATE-BREAKING POPE NEWS. You can catch up on the very latest that's going on today. Over there in the Forum. (message board)

Anyway... yeah, CAMI HALL! If you wanna get your name on the list at the door, you can do it right now by clicking on that button over there on the right, under the poster that says "Add to Cart". Here are some of the songs I know we're gonna do that night...

Crazy on the Same Day
The People on the Hill
JesusLand
One Word
Wedding in Danville
Lost on Bleecker Street
Where'dat Money Go?

Lots and lots more... you know how those nights go. Tell a few stories. Have a lotta laughs. Make it up as we go aalong.

I'm really looking forward to it. James Marino is thinking that if this next concert is a success and as much fun as we think it's gonna be, we might make CAMI HALL a kind of a "home" for a series of concerts all year round. We'll see how it goes.

What else? Oh yeah, I know the weather is looking great for this weekend. But, I can't get out to "The Hill" until that fence comes down. (Right now, there is a fence around the grassy part of "The Hill", the part you guys sit on.) They do that nearly every winter, and each year I never remember exactly when it comes down. But when it does, I'll be in Central Park again... for the 14th summer. Do you believe it!?

Anyway, listen... if your a little antsy and you wanna get that feeling, and you wanna kick this winter in the ass as it heads out the door... plan on grabbing a few friends and coming to CAMI HALL on Friday night, April 22... two weeks from tonight.

Maybe I'll see you in the Forum a little later today.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
