Y'know, I heard a long time ago, "When one door closes, another opens... but, it can be hell in the hall."

I've always been aware of that in both my personal and professional life. But, y'know... while that's true, I think whoever said that didn't have friends like I have.

'nough said.

And, Thank You everyone who is contributing to the annual "Permit-Fund" drive. (I call it that, but actually the money goes to everything we do here; the Special Event Permits, the Sound Device Permits, running this website, the email service... all kindsa stuff.

So, thank you.

If you wanna help out and donate something, just click on that little PayPal thing up at the top of this page, okay?

Also... here's something absolutely FOR FREE! Give a listen to the new song "JesusLand". If you feel like it you can download it for yourself and pass it on to all your friends. I want the whole country to have it... for FREE!

Here.

MP3 of Jesusland! Click to download or play.

I had a lot of fun writing this song, and I've really enjoyed all of the feedback I'm getting about it. The positive messages are fun, and the negative emails are often even more amusing. Keep 'em coming. Actually, the song is available for sale on iTunes. But, you get it for free by coming to this website.

So...

Well, yesterday was "Pi Day". (If you don't know what that is, scroll down or check out the "Archives".)

Today is... um... uh... 3-15 Day!!!

Not as cool?

No, actually it is for me. I don't know one person walking the face of the earth who has ever done one of these before... a March 15th, 2005. I know it sounds trite, but this day is unlike any day that has ever been, or will ever be again. It is here once. It is... today. Events that happen, feelings I have, lessons I learn, challenges I face, people I encounter, thoughts that come to me, ideas, daydreams, songs, fears I go through, Creative ideas... all of these will happen today, March 15th, 2005. All of the events in the world... just today.

It is unparalelled by any other day in my lifetime... a one shot deal.

I'm gonna do my best to really live it. See what it's about before it's gone.

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum", later too. 'Cause, y'know, as an artist and as a man, I also need to stay true to the awareness, and "bewareness", that George Harrison wrote about in that wonderful song of his...

"Watch out, now...
Take care. Beware of greedy leaders.
They take you where you shouldn't go
While weeping atlas cedars
They just wanna grow... grow... and grow
Beware of darkness."

This dark, neo-conservative right wing is still in office, and people are still dying in a WAR in Iraq. Oh sure, it doesn't seem to be "news" anymore. But, while I'm really living this day with gratitude and wonder... I'm also living it with awareness.

Got songs to write... and a March 15th, 2005 to live.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
