Looking at the stats, I seems more and more people are reading this from all over the country.

Welcome!.

Balance... balance, Love, Truth, fun, vigilence, awareness, reason, humanity...

Today, I wanna start out by thanking all of you who came down to The Red Lion last night for the Songwriters Circle. Wasn't that a blast? (John Wallowitch needs international fame or therapy, I'm not sure which.) Y'know, it's funny... he sings songs that only he could ever get away with. It's a privilege to share a stage with him. And, I hafta thank George Wurzbach for showing up and playing even though he couldn't sing.

Listen, my next concert is this Friday night! Right here in New York City.... right across the street from Carnegie Hall on West 57th Street. CAMI HALL 165 West 57th Street.

7:30

Call a couple of friends and hang with us. It's gonna be recorded for a Podccast and a possible satellite radio show. So, if you show up and sing loud... you will be in the show.

Hey listen... right now, if you feel like it, download the new song "JesusLand" for free. Send the link to all your friends.

MP3 of Jesusland! Click to download or play.

It's really a whole lot of fun for me. I wrote the song to make a statement and cause a reaction. Hooo brother! Nearly all of the reaction has been fun, positive... approving... kinda, "right-on!" stuff. But, from some of the other email I've gotten, and even some of the posting in the "Forum" message board, there are actually people out there who argue that Jesus of Nazareth would have somehow approved of bombing Baghdad and the death penalty. Now, I'm not a religious guy. But, I never expected that! Y'know what the funniest thing is?

The song was about hypocrisy in America today... not absurdity!

But, keep the mail coming. And, keep showing up in the "Forum". EVERY one with a thought or opinion is welcome here. (As long as you're cool to each other.)

FRIDAY NIGHT at CAMI HALL is gonna be a real feel good night, I hope. I'm so looking forward to it. Songs like...

CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
PEOPLE ON THE HILL
WHERE'DAT MONEY GO
OBI
COMMON GROUND
TIRED OF BEING LIED TO
RELAX IT'S ONLY LIFE

... Cat Stevens, James Taylor covers. So many more. We'll have fun.

But, I'm DEFINITELY SINGIN' "JESUSLAND"!

So...

Can't help it.... and, really don't care if some of you think the thoughts that usually appear below this picture are nothing more than political blah, blah, blah.

I really don't like politics per se.

But, I've been looking around the internet, and there is a new term for what Bill Moyers called the #1 danger to democracy and freedom right here in America. (Um... no, it's not Islam.)

It's MSM.

The corporate and right-wing takeover of the MainStream Media.

Last Friday, the "War" in Iraq was page 3 and page 9 news.

19 more young Americans died there that week. A few months ago that was a headline.

Today, I turned on CNN at 9 am. I watched for 35 minutes.

Well, the Pope is speaking. The BTK killer is going to be arraigned. There were opening statements in the Michael Jackson trial. A little girl is missing in Florida. Millionaire Steve Fosset is flying around the world. The family of a judge in Chicago were murdered. And, there's a new book out about Eric Robert Rudolph, the abortion terrorist.

At 9:33, they ran the story about communication between Osama Bin Laden and Zarqawi. (To refresh your memory, Bin Laden is the one responsible for 9-11. Yeah, the guy George W. Bush was referring to when he said, "I don't know where he is, I ah, -chuckle- ah, I'll repeat what I said, I truly am not that concerned about him.")

CNN. 9:00 news... American Morning... in the time I watched, not one piece of information about the "War" in Iraq.

Not one.

So, here's a piece of news. (At least it was page one, above the fold in the New York Times today.)

24 hours ago, at least 122 people were killed and more than 100 wounded Monday morning when a car bomb ripped through a crowd outside a medical center south of the Iraqi capital. 120 people!

And... as of this morning, 1,499 wonderful, young, good Americans have been killed there and are not coming home.

Now, let's make sure the FCC doesn't let Robin Williams make fun of cartoon characters at the Academy Awards.

Whew! Like I said... absurdity.

Sorry if this doesn't seem important to you. I wish as a songwwriter, I could just write songs like "People on the Hill" ALL THE TIME instead of just most of the time.

Uy!!

Nope.

Stuck.

Gotta write what I gotta write.

But, I promise, I'm not all about this stuff. It's just important to me as an artist and as a man. I'll try my best to acheive...

Balance... balance, Love, Truth, fun, vigilence, awareness, reason, humanity...

...in my music.

See you Friday night.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
