Well, Dodger and I did a very cool gig last night at... The Harvard Club here in New York City. I mean... the "Hah-vad Club". Played a room called Harvard Hall. (The sound in that room was actually pretty amazing.) And, the people were cool. I mean, you might not expect a bunch of folks in jackets and ties to sing outloud, but they did. And, I got to tell the story of what we do out in Central Park to a whole lotta nice people, most of whom have never been there. ('Course, the damned elephant head on the wall made me uncomfortable. And, I swear the portraits of all those dead, old white guys were starin' at me.) But, I dig playing in unique places.... bringing my kinda music and stories into places you wouldn't normally think you'd hear 'em. The guy that brought me in there, a great guy from "The Hill" named Arthur, thought it would be a fun thing to do. And, last night was a cool experience.

Anyway... on to the next thing.

Today, I think I'm makin' the final arrangements to do another gig outside the country. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if James Marino is gonna take over the updates on this homepage for next week again. In the meantime... listen. Here's something fun! And, it's absolutely FOR FREE! Give a listen to the new song "JesusLand". If you feel like it you can download it for yourself and pass it on to all your friends. I want the whole country to have it... for FREE!

MP3 of Jesusland! Click to download or play.

I had a lot of fun writing this song, and I've really enjoyed all of the feedback, both positive and negative, I'm getting about it. Keep it comin'!

Oh yeah... and if you want to, you can still contribute to keep this website running, and to help pay for the permits I need all summer in Central Park. It's easy to send a few bucks. James set up that PayPal thing up at the top of this page.

THANK YOU! To everyone who sent a donation. I'll be in touch with you guys. It lets me know that you all feel this website and "The Hill" are things in this world that are kinda worthwhile, and are both something you like being a part of.

Thanks.

I'll probably be baack to update this page a litttle later. Right now... I've got a little business to take care of. And, i'm working on two new songs at the same time. They are about two verrrry different emotions, so it's a little odd. But... y'know, what the hell.

But, if you missed it, I passed along some pretty inspiring words from Woody Guthrie in yesterday's update. (They inspire me, anyway.) If you're new here, or reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around.

I'll propbably be back later... or, I'll stop in the "Forum" to see what you guys are up to.

Thanks again.

.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
