Hey... thanks for checking in here at the website today. Once again, if you're reading this in another part of the country, or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around the site. Jump into the "Forum" over there and get to know some of the regulars in the message board. Bookmark this page and come back every day. But, listen, if you live in, or around New York City, try to make plans with your friends to come to the next, big concert on March 4th. (More about that later!)

Well, I've got some cool news. "JesusLand" is finally here. (The song, I mean.)

That's the good news. The fact that I felt like I had to write it because so many people are trying to turn America into "JesusLand" is not good news. It's actually pretty scary. But, I digress.)

Yeah, had a blast last night... got a couple of surprises when I got back from playing at Sessions 73. I hit this website and learned that Mike Malloy, on Air America Radio, and Thom Hartmann were already playing "JesusLand" on the air. Damn! It's only been finished for 24 hours! Must mean peolple are passing it around to their friends and to radio stations and stuff. (I hope they start listening to some other songs on the "Common Ground" album, like "Tired of Being Lied To" and "Where'dat Money Go" and "My Morning Coffee" and "Where's the Voice"... well, damn! I hope people start listening to everything I write. I hope the music helps to make a tiny difference in the world. But, that's all every songwriter wants.)

Very cool.

Anyway, if YOU want to hear the new song... just click on the title!

JesusLand

Then, go into the Forum and let me know what you think.

I have a plan for this song. If you want to help out with the plan... email me through the "Contact" button over there. (I'm already getting swamped with email. But, I'll personally try to get back to as many of you as I can, okay? Might take some time.)

The main thing I'm gonna ask of you, if you're reading this... pass that song onto somebody today, okay?

Hey, thanks again to Mike Malloy and Thom Hartmann for airing a new song on the very first night it was out there!

So...

.

Well, I'm gonna be flying out of the country tomorrow morning to do a gig in the British West Indies, so I'm gonna leave the homepage updates to our webmaster, James Marino for a week. (If there is internet access where I'm going, I'll try to check in as well.)

Do me a personal favor this week, okay?

Let's be reasonable people. BE the people of REASON. And, have fun.

I get a kick out of us sometimes, when faced with phonies like George Bush, or the greedy like Dick Cheney, or the arrogant like Rumsfeld, or the blindly-ambitious like Condaleeza Rice... sometimes we're fond of saying, "Well, y'know human nature will never change." or "You can't change human nature."

Today, I think human nature is just fine.

You never hear peoople say that when we read about our friend, Gordon, who spent all that time as a civilian in Afghanistan and Iraq, just to help people. You don't hear them spout that expression when they witness thousands of random acts of civility and kindness every single day. Y'know? When I see something Good... when I see human kindness.. when I see people who really want the Truth... when I see people who really wanna make the world a better place... that's when I wanna say....

"Human nature is just fine... y'know... depending on the human."

Hey, send the link to the new song to EVERYONE you know! Send the link to this website to EVERYONE you know. Send it to Jon Stewart at the Daily Show and send it to every single person who contributed to the wonderful book, "What We Do Now". Send it all over the country. Have a little fun, poking the evangelical-elephant in the eye. Maybe a few people will wake up. And, invite EVERYONE into the "Forum". (But, remember.... here at this website, we don't call people names in there.) Listen, I'm an Independent. So, we are one of the only websites in the country where Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, the lactose-intolerant, everyone can speak up without the high-schoolish bullshit chasing them away.

Have fun.

What else... OH, YEAH!

March 4th! There is a great little venue on 57th Street, right across from Carnegie Hall... it's called Columbia Artists Management (CAMI) Hall. The next big indoor concert of the season is gonna be there on Friday Night, March 4th. You can get tickets today, just by clicking on that button over there that says "Buy Now". (Actually, you don't get tickets in the physical sense. You click on that thing, follow the instructions, and your name is automatically added to the "Guest" list. Just show up that night and give them your name at the door.) Very cool.

I'll definitely be doing songs like...

"Crazy on the Same Day"
"Just Hafta Trust Me"
"Where'dat Money Go"
"City Song"

...and the new song, "JesusLand".

There's only 170 seats in CAMI HALL, so get your tickets sooner than later, okay?

I'll probably check back in later.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
