Well, what's up today?

I'm gonna get in touch with my friend Ann Ruckert of the Songwriters Guild of America, to see if we're on for the Songwriters Circle at The Red Lion, in the Village this Monday Night. And, hey listen... next Thursday night, 8:00 to 11:00, me and Dodger (Roger Bartlett) are gonna do a night on the Eastside, at a place called "Sessions 73", on First Avenue @ 73rd Street. Admission is free at both the Red Lion and Sessions.

But, the next big indoor concert is gonna be on March 4th, at Columbia Artists Management (CAMI) Hall. That concert is already selling. You can get your tickets by clicking on that button right over there... the button that says "Buy Now". It's gonna be a very special night. I'll let you know more about it as it gets closer. But, there are only 170 seats in that venue, so don't wait too long, okay?

I'm also gonna check with the people over at the Parks Department to begin setting up the schedule for this summer in Central Park. (Yeah, I know it's 16 degrees in New York. But, this is the time to start getting ready for another season at "The Hill".)

So... um... today.

Well first, if you're reading this in another part of the country, or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around the site. Jump into the "Forum" over there and get to know some of the regulars in the message board. But, if you're in or around New York City, try to make plans with your friends to come to the next concert on March 4th.

"Thank heaven we're not all Crazy... on the Same Day"

I was a little crazy yesterday. But, I had a wonderful night last night. And today, I'm just all jazzed up about the future and the work that needs to be done... the adventure... in my personal life, in my Creative life, and in the work that I put out there into the world. I have no idea what each new day will bring. But, it's feels good to actually do what you know you're meant to be doing.

Really... Good.

Yet, at the same time, my heart breaks once again for the young people on the other side of the world, far away from their families and homes, far away from their jobs and dreams... dying in a foreign land, never again to be seen by their friends, or held by those who love them.

Oh, my.

Shit. Remember, like 10 minutes ago, when those talking heads on the TV "news" were putting on their very best "concerned" faces, and talking about the number of US military deaths reaching 1,000.

That was 420 lives ago.

So, okay... for today, that's all the horrible news on a music website.

So...

.

Well, for one thing... we open our eyes and our hearts.

I'm reading a wonderful book, written by a collection of people with wonderful minds and spirits. It's called, "What We Do Now".

It's in paperback. It's only $12.

Get it and read it.

Then, we'll go into the "Forum" and talk about it. It's a collection of short-but-powerful essays and articles. It's easily digestible and very informative and inspiring.

On the music front, Roger had a little setback this week. (A viscious sore throat.) But, I gota call from him last night, and he said he finished laying down the electric guitar tracks on the new song "JesusLand". A little mandolin and we're ready to mix... hopefully tomorrow.

Listen... if you wanna help get this new song out into the world, and if you wanna get on board the little plan we put together, email me through this website and I'll tell you what we have in mind, okay.

Anyway... be cool to each other, okay? I love this town!

I have an awful lotta stuff to do today, but maybe I'll stop by in the "Forum" later.

Hope I see you on March 4th at CAMI Hall.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
