Thanks for stopping by.

If you're reading this in another part of the country, or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around the site. Jump into the "Forum" over there and get to know some of the regulars around here.

But, if you're in or around New York City, try to make plans with your friends to come to the next concert on March 4th. (I'll get into that later.)

Wanna start you off with a lyric again today, if that's okay.

Crazy on the Same Day
©2001

You said you woke up feelin' frightened,
Senses heightened,
Overwhelmed lost and alone,
A little overwrought until you finally thought
That you'd drop it all and opick up the phone.
And I didn't do nothin' but really listen
To everything you had to say
Until I knew that you'd be okay.

The next week it was my turn.
I was in a slow-burn
About somethin' or nothin' at all.
I don't even remember. But, I remember
I was hurtin', so I gave you a call.
And, you didn't do nothin' but really listen
To everything I had to say
Until you knew that I'd be okay.

We take turns being angels for one another
'Cause there's never been a day when we both wanna stay
Under the covers.
I guess we're all just lucky that it works that way.
And, thank heaven we're not all crazy...
On the same day.

And, in the back of a taxi, I heard talk-radio,
One of those shows
That you call to tell 'em all about your life.
There was a "DJ-doctor" and a man
Who was goin' on and on
About some trouble with his mother and his wife.
It's funny, but the doctor prob'ly makes a lot of money
Just to listen to what he has to say.
Then she tells him he's okay.

They take turns being angels for one another.
'Cause there's never been a day when we all wanna stay
Under the covers.
I guess we're just damn lucky that it works that way.
And, thank heaven we're not all crazy...
On the same day.

Yes... I'm gonna be in the "Forum" later. I wound up with a little extra time today. Dodger got himself a rotten sore throat, so we have to wait a couple of days to put the finishing touches on "JesusLand". It's okay. I'm a little disappointed. But, that's because I'm soooo excited about finishing the thing. I get like a litttle kid about new songs.

It's also okay because I have so many other things to do today. Got a demo to drop off for another songwriter, and still another to record before next week. Gotta burn and label about a million CDs. Gotta contact Club Med in the Carribean, cause I'm doing a gig down there in a couple of weeks. Got a whole bunch of things to catch up on. I also have to lay the ground work for getting "JesusLand" out to the public. (I'm gonna be asking you guys to help me in that regard. Y'know, if you feel like it. This is what "grassroots" is all about.)

Anyway... so...

Next gig... I think I'm gonna be sittting in at the SGA Songwriters Circle this coming Monday night at 7:00, at the Red Lion in the Village. (I'll let you guys know about that as soon as I'm sure.)

Then... a week from tonight, next Thursday, I'll be on the EASTSIDE!

Yeah... believe it?

East side.

Sessions 73 on First Ave @ 73rd Street. 8:00

Then, of course... the next, big, indoor concert of the season is CAMI HALL. That's comin' up!

You can get tickets for that show by clicking on that button right over there on the right. March 4th is a FRIDAY NIGHT. Woo hoo! CAMI Hall only seats 170, so get your tickets sooner than later.

I will be doing the new song "JesusLand" as well as all the tunes you guys love to sing to.

"Crazy on the Same Day"
"A Lot of Lonely People"
"Just Hafta Trust Me"
"The People on the Hill"

But, I think you're reeeallly gonna dig what we've done with...

JesusLand_3.jpg

Actually... not ALL of you are gonna dig it. It's a song that can easily be taken the wrong way.

I'm countin' on it!

Anyway... see you in the "Forum".

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
