How you feelin' today?

Thanks for checking in here at the website. Once again, if you're reading this in another part of the country, or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around the site. Jump into the "Forum" over there and get to know some of the regulars in the message board. But, if you're in or around New York City, try to make plans with your friends to come to the next, big concert on March 4th. (More about that later!)

Got some really fun stuff comin' up before that, though!

I don't know... man! I've got the earliest case of Spring Fever I've ever had. Yeah, yeah... it snowed. I love snow. Fun. Okay, let's move on. I'm actually even doing a litttle purge today like always do every year. Y'know? If it's in my closet and I haven't worn it this winter, it goes out to someone who might need it. I always say, "If I've got a sweater in my closet and I haven't worn it yet this season... then, I've got somebody else's sweater."

Anyway... fun stuff. Next week, THURSDAY NIGHT! I'm gonna get out my passport and head through the park to the Eastside. 8:00 to 11:00, me a Dodger are gonna crank up and play at a place called Sessions 73. It's on First Avenue @ 73rd Street. If you're an Eastsider, try to plan on coming that night. God knows when I'll back on that side of town!(Just kidding. I wanna play over there more this year.) But, this Thursday night... I'm definitely gonna sing the new song, "JesusLand".

Also... I'm pretty sure the SGA Songwriters Circle at The Red Lion is this Monday night. The music cranks up around 7:00, and I get to share the stage for 2 hours with some of the most amazing, funniest, creative songwriters I've ever met. It's really a good time. If you're not doin' anything Monday night, stop down. The Red Lion is in the Village. (Bleecker & Thompson.)

I'm feelin' really good today. Really. I don't know. I have a sense that the many, many people of reason in this city, maybe throughout the country, are shaking the daze out of their heads, like a fighter who took a blow and is shaking it off. Shaking it off, gathering their wits, looking around them and saying, "Whuuuu...!?

The other day I turned on the television and see George W. Bush at what is laughingly called a press conference these days; sweat glistening on his upper lip, stumbling through the English language, smiling and smirking his way through his own stupidity. And, I said to myself, once again, "Whuuu? How did we come to this? How... how did we come to this? I mean, this is the president of the United States? This!?"

C'mon, you intelligent Republicans. You little rascals, you! I don't buy it. Secretly... you gotta be embarrassed, too! Right!?

Well, I'm beginning to get a pretty clear idea how we wound up here. I'll be sharing more thoughts about this in the "Forum" and in my music, I think.

Okay... so...

Well, like I said yesterday... for one thing... we keep our eyes and our hearts open.

I'm reading a wonderful book, written by a collection of people with wonderful minds and spirits. It's called, "What We Do Now".

It's in paperback. It's only $12.

Get it and read it.

Then, we'll go into the "Forum" and talk about it. It's a collection of short-but-powerful essays and articles. It's easily digestible and very informative and inspiring.

What else... oh yeah!!

CAMI HALL!

March 4th.

Get your tickets today. Don't put it off. There are only 170 seats in Cami Hall. It's gonna be a special night, I think.

Anyway,yeah... I'm back in the "Forum" these days. Hope I see you in there. If you've got something to say... speak up, okay?

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
