First snowy weekend of the season!

Okay... I'm a little kid. I love snow in this town.

Get outside if you can, walk around in it. Smile at people. This town is beautiful and magical in the snow. (Hell, it's magic all the time.) But, if you happen to walk by "The Hill" in Central Park this weekend, and you see a guy standing in the snow by the Lake, it might be me. I love stopping by "The Hill" in the winter.

Gonna spend the weekend playing... relaxing... enjoying the snow. Enjoying the way it slows everything down. I dig the feeling of commonality it always seems to inspire among strangers walking on the street. (Again, maybe that's just me, projecting my own feelings on this town. But, what the hell. It feels real to me. So, what's the difference?)

Y'know? There are so many people all over this town who were born and raised in places where they'd never experienced or saw snow until they came here to live and work... hundreds of thousands of them, and for many this might be their very first snowfall. I have fun remembering that when I start to take for granted the fact that I grew up with the season's changing so beautifully in our little coastal, port town.

Y'know... I guess that also just reminded me of another thing I love and appreciate about this city. I love getting on the subway... often... and being the only white face on the train. Paying atttention to little things like that remind me that this town really is very different than so much of this country.

I'm drifting.

Okay... so...

Well, keep stopping by this week. I got a call from Dodger yesterday. He thinks we'll be ready to mix "JesusLand" by Tuesday. If we get the thing done, I wanna make it available for a limited time as a "free" download on this website. (Before it goes to itunes) I'm really gonna ask you guys to pass it around to friends, relatives, and people you know and ask them for a sincere reaction to the song... positive, negative, indifferent. I wanna hear it all, okay?

Hey listen, thanks for stopping by today. If you're reading this in another part of the country, or another part of the world... welcome. Take a look around the site. We'll be importing the "Archives" from the last year or so very soon, so that you can go back and check out what we've been up to around here.

But, if you're in or around New York City, try to make plans with your friends to come to the next concert on March 4th.

The tickets for the concert at CAMI HALL on MARCH 4th are selling, so I'm really looking forward to seeing all you guys at that show. It's gonna be another good one. I can feel it. The spirit in New York City is starting to come back. (Maybe it's just me.) But I have a sense that, as we enjoy another New York City Winter and as Spring draws closer, we in this town are gonnna remember why we love this place so much.

Anyway, reserve your ticket today just by clicking on that thing over there on the right and following the instructions thhat James put up. He made it really simple.

Listen... I gotta go.

SNOW!!!!

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum". Maybe I'll see you in the snow.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
