Lookin' like a beautiful Spring day.
Well... I'm gonna head to the park to play music and hang out with you guys.
I had a new friend remind me of something the other day... about the essence of what music is, and the value of it, and how it can touch people. I'm gonna bring my guitar to the park and play music. Not a bad thing to do with a life.
Y'know what... I should probably kinda turn today and Tuesday night at SoHo into a little celebration of THAT fact.
You oughta come down there this Tuesday. Listen... there is a little buzz goin' on about the SoHo Playhouse. You can be part of something really cool if you can make it there. Y'see, this just might be the last time I'm gonna be telling the story of how the whole "Guitar Man from Central Park" thing got started 12 years ago. There is talk about doing something with this show, and it would really help me out if you guys could show up.... one more time!
Right here.... I'm gonna give you a "password" that I swear the producer of the show is clueless about. Okay? (Ssshhhhhh.)
If you walk up to the box office and say, "People on the Hill" you get in for half price this coming Tuesday. (It's normally $20.) But say, "People on the Hill" and it's only $10 for you, and any friends you bring... and you still get a free drink before the show or at intermission... y'know beer, wine, cocktail, soda... um... really, good water...
I'm serious. Me and Brit, in the box office, did this before.
Also... if you can bring at least one friend who's never been to Central Park and has no idea what any of this is about, it would be a big help because a part of this great, creative experiment is workshopping this idea in front of a new audience.
Anyway, I'll e-mail you guys about this again on Monday. I hope you can start planning on coming down Tuesday night. It'll be cool.
See you in the park, and...
... thanks again.
