I wanna welcome anyone who's new to this site. Especially if you were in the park yesterday. Yesterday was cool.
(No, I mean it was REALLY cool when the Sun went behind the clouds.)
But, it was great to get out there and sing with you guys. This is just the beginning of another fine season in Central Park. Can't believe this is the 12th year. I had a new friend remind me of something the other day... about the essence of what music is, and the value of it, and how it can touch people. I'm so lucky to be able to get out to the park and play music. Not a bad thing to do with a life.
You oughta come to The SoHo Playhouse tomorrow night. Listen... there is a little buzz goin' on about this show I'm doing down there. You can be part of something really cool if you can make it. Y'see, this just might be the last time I'm gonna be telling the story of how the whole "Guitar Man from Central Park" thing got started 12 years ago. There is talk about doing something with this show, but it would really help me out if you guys could show up.... one more time!
So... right here.... I'm gonna give you a "password" that I swear the producer of the show is clueless about. Okay? (Ssshhhhhh.) Like in the park.....
If you walk up to the box office and say, "People on the Hill" you get in for half price this coming Tuesday. (It's normally $20.) But say, "People on the Hill" and it's only $10 for you, and any friends you bring... and you still get a free drink before the show or at intermission... y'know beer, wine, cocktail, soda... um... really, good water...
I'm serious. Me and Brit, in the box office, did this before.
Also... if you can bring at least one friend who's never been to Central Park and has no idea what any of this is about, it would be a big help because a part of this great, creative experiment is workshopping this idea in front of a new audience.
I hope you can plan to be there with some friends tomorrow night. It oughta be fun.
... thanks again.
