Another great day in New York City...

If you're in another part of the country or the world, and you're reading this right now... Man! Try to get to New York between now and the end of the year!

Anyway, everybody else... today, I'm gonna meet with a whole bunch of guys who are gonna be involved with "LIVE: From the SoHo Playhouse" next year. This is what I'm thinkin'... see if you think this is a good idea, and let me know. Talk with each other about it in the "Forum" section (the message boards over there on the right of your screen) and see if you can come up with other ideas for the night.

I'm thinkin'... it's every Monday night. At the SoHo Playhouse, there's a bar and food area on one floor, and then there's a 200 seat theater upstairs. How's this sound? It's be like $15 to get in. Doors open at 7:00 so you can go to the bar and have a free drink and maybe get someting to munch on. Then, the music starts upstairs at around 7:30. Every week has a different theme and different guest artists. First week, it's the story of how "The Hill" got started... next week, it's "The Band: All Originals, All Night"...next week, it's "Love Songs"... next week, it's "Songs that Make Me Laugh"... next week, it's "Songs I Wish I Wrote"... y'know, something like that.

Then the music goes 'til we feel like it.... probably around 10:00. But then, the bar and food area stays open until midnight so that, unlike Central Park, you can actually go downsatairs and meet and talk to the person you were peeking at during "I Can't Wait".

Also... (and maybe this is the best part) ...today we're gonna figure out a way to STREAM each night LIVE over the internet. "Why?" ...you're thinking?

How many times have you been on "The Hill" in Central Park holding your cell phone in the air, or at a concert here in New York and you thought, "Damn, I wish my friend in Colorado could be here!". Or, you know your boyfriend who's away at school would love this. Or, your Mom in California or Ohio or France would get a kick out of this. Well, here's the thing. This guy David Passerman is setting up a thing called "CottageMusicClub.com". We plan to stream these things over the internet every week so that you can tell those people in your life to go online and sit in on a concert that you'll be at. We'll even have a few times each night where you can say, "Hi" to whoever it is you have watching... wherever they are.

Pretty cool, hah?

Talk about it in the "Forum" and let me know if you think it's a cool idea, or if can think of anything else.

Hope I see you in the park next Sunday.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
