Well, it's lookin' like the rain is gonna hold off 'til tonight and tomorrow. I'll see you guys in the park.
The gig yesterday at The National Tennis Center went really well. It was a long day. But it was pretty cool. I love sports and competition... mostly baseball, football and college basketball... so, tennis is not really my thing. I mean, y'know, I watch it if it's on and really get into it. But, I don't follow it.
But, my Dad does. So, yesterday when I was setting up to play an opening song for this thing at Center Court, I called him from the referee chair on the cell phone. He got a kick out of it.
Also, I gotta say, my 6 favorite New York Giants of all time, the guys I really loved watching play the game of football, were Phil Simms, Fran Tarkenton, Mark Bavaro, Lawrence Taylor, Phil McConkey and Harry Carson. Well, yesterday Bavaro and McConkey were playing in this charity thing, and I got to thank 'em for all the great Sundays, and give 'em each one of the new CDs. Mark made a point to come over at the end of thing to thank me again. I said, "Well, you love what you do and I love what I do." And he said, "To tell you the truth, I'd rather play guitar and sing like you."
He's a good guy.
So, anyway, hope I see you all in the park today. And, remember... I'll let you know early this week about the tickets for the December show. People are already asking.
