Hi...

Here are my thoughts for this week. Of course you can take 'em or leave 'em. (I'm a street musician, for cryin' out loud.) These are mine. And, they are likely to change, day-to-day or moment-to-moment. I have two prominent thoughts and feelings.

"What's wrong with us? What the hell's wrong with us? It's so sad for us... every human being on the face of the earth."

And... "Human beings are the most wonderful, amazing creations in the Universe. I'm so grateful to be alive right now."

I guess people have felt these two conflicting emotions since the beginning of time. But, every now and then, throughout history, an event takes place that paints them with much bolder colors, and makes them so much more vivid inside us.

We are capable of such Love. We are capable of such hatred. We are capable of such nobility and compassion. And, we are capable of such base feelings of revenge... and acts of violence.

All of us.

9/11 was an act of hatred. It was also an act of revenge... misguided and inexcusable, but an act of revenge. Now, most of us, if we have a pulse and are willing to admit it, are dealing with feelings of hatred and thoughts of revenge. At the same time, most good men and women of this world are also genuinely longing for "solution" and "harmony".

"And so, the seeds of hate are sown that grow from war to war... what for? What for?"

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too.
Imagine all the people
Living Life in Peace.

You may say i'm a dreamer
But, I'm not the only one...

Y'know, I'm not offering a "Right" or "Wrong" here. And, I'm surely not offering a solution one way or another. I do know that I am going to spend this week trying, however falteringly, to be a better man... better human being.

That's just for me.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
